Everyone deserves a little photo treat once in a while. And it was my lucky weekend to have a professional photographer (k. Fon) taken pictures for me. After a stressful years of corporate law, Fon decided to pursue a photography career, something which she always wanted to do since high school. She finally took up the courage, and graduated from New England School of Photography, Boston, USA, a well-known photography school in 2007.  Her work with portrait is absolutely fantastic, definitely a rising star in photographer community in Thailand. She has a studio near Ratchayothin if your want your photo taken indoor. Personally I found Fon to be very proactive in her job, and was great at making us relax and doing a natural pose.

I mean it literally. Dating Chemistry. A few months ago a new kind of dating agency was borned in Boston, calling itself ScientificMatch.com. It uses DNA samples from customers to match them with others who have different alleles for major histocompatibility complex genes.
To put it in a layman term, the theory is based on people tending to be most attracted to the scent of the shirt whose owner has different alleles from the sniffer. Darwin explained this phenomenon as a promotion of genetic diversity between mates.
For a lifetime membership of $1995.95, you could be on your way to finding partners who are chemically compatible with you.  The evolutionary scent does make sense. People usually get turned on by the smell that they like, such as perfumes. The company also asks you for your background, lifestyle, income and hobbies just like a typical online-dating agency. 

With only a handful customers signed up so far, only time can tests the theory. 

I think it’s a great idea that people are starting to capitalise in genetic science. The genetic map by itself is worthless if people doesn’t know what to with it. So I predict that within 20 years, human genetic code will be readily available at a much cheaper price for everyone.  And people like us wouldn’t even have to paid for it to have our genetic map. Pharmaceutial companies will pick up the bill, and they will analyse the data to tell us what we needed to treat, who we should get married to, what the child will be good at when he/she grows up.  The boundary for what we could use it for is uncapped, but a structure should be put in place to avoid discrimination in hiring people for a job, and providing life insurance etc. 

Our affections towards ex-prime-minister Thaksin has surpassed the $101 per barrel crude oil price this morning.  With the news that he has landed in Thailand, it’s almost comparable to seeing an oil price peaking above $200 per barrel.  I’m just so thrilled we are now experiencing the $200 oil price economy prematurely.  Because when the oil really reached that price, or shall I say the dollar has depreciated to just a scrap of toilet paper, we know we have seen it worse.

The risk of oil affecting our economy in some way will probably encourage us to change the way we live for the better and to live life in  a more environmentally friendly way.  I’m seriously thinking of investing my money in a bicycle Public company.  Under Thaksin-nominee-ecomony however, the billionaire will be a trillionaire, Thaksinaire will be a gazillionaire, and people like us will continue to accumulate the increasingly rediculous national’s debt. 

I have no doubt that he will win all the allegations in court, after a small tiny dent in his driver’s mother’s billion -baht-bank account. 

A female PR client of mine just came back from her third date. Although her date was a good looking (for a Thai standard) 35-years-old guy, who has a wonderful job, he failed to make a good impression in the following area:

• “Dominate all the conversations and talk about himself in drastic way.  
• Degrade himself by saying:“ I am difficult person to have a girlfriend because I am too choosy like a woman.”   
• Pessimistic
• Criticize people 
• Every thing is about money
• No eye contact
• Share the bill with a woman (  At least for the first time, it would be nice if the guy was a gentleman) “

So guys, remember, when you go out on a date, do speak positively about yourself and about other people.  It’s not necessary to pick up the bill yourself, but if you are interested in seeing that woman again, spoilt her a little as long as it is not excessive. 

 My latest client came back with an excellent feedback of the restaurant. It gave me a pretty good reason why not to pick some places for dating again, (or in this case for coffee) and perhaps I should forward his comments to Yura An’s owner. We have over 30 venues, where we sent our clients to. Our aim is to provide a quiet and discreet environment where people can relax and be themselves.

หากเป็นเรื่องคุณY ผมไม่มี comment ในส่วนของเธอ เพราะภาพรวมของเธอ(หน้าตา - การศึกษา - background ฯลฯ) ก็ OK ในระดับ medium-upper อยู่แล้ว (ถือว่า meet&lunch มี DB ที่เหมาะสมพอสมควรทีเดียว ^.^) ใช้เวลาในการทำความรู้จักกันก็ประมาณ 2 ชม.นิดๆครับ

How can you improve?

ในด้าน Database ผมว่า (อ้างอิงจากคุณY) MnL น่าจะมี DB ที่โอเคพอสมควรอยู่ในมือ แต่ … ในด้านสถานที่ (Yura An - 7th flr. Central World) ผมว่าไม่น่าจะใช้ที่นี่เป็นที่นัดเจอหากไม่ได้เป็นกรณีทานข้าวกลางวันเป็นกิจลักษณะ เพราะ เมนูอาหารมีแต่ของหนักๆ แบบญี่ปุ่น ไม่เหมาะกันคนที่ทานข้าวเที่ยงมาแล้ว (นัดเจอ 2pm) ที่เบาที่สุดก็คือ Maki แบบต่างๆ ซึ่งไม่ใช่ของที่จะทานเล่นได้เลย ส่วนเครื่องดื่ม ก็มีเฉพาะเครื่องดื่มที่เหมาะกับทานกับข้าวเท่านั้น ไม่ใช่กาแฟ/ชา ที่จะทานเล่นๆได้ บรรยากาศที่ไม่เหมาะนะ เพราะผมสั่งเครื่องดื่มมา 2 แก้ว + มากิ 1 ชุด (ค่อนข้างน้อยในสายตาของเจ้าของร้าน) นั่งไปก็รู้สึกอึดอัด แถม 15.00 ยังเอาบิลมาเช็ค(โดยไม่ถามก่อน)อีกต่างหาก ตอนแรกผมนึกว่าร้านเค้าปิดตอนบ่าย แต่เห็นลูกค้ามาเค้าก็ยังรับนี่นา ดังนั้นนัดแบบ Starbuck / โอ้ ป๋อง แป๋ง ยังน่าจะดีกว่าครับ (ทำให้ผมต้องย้ายไปนั่งร้านอื่นอีก 1 ชม. - เลือก โอ ปอง แปง ชั้น 2 ส่วน Office ของ Central World ซึ่งเงียบดีมากๆ แต่ต้องระวังตอนคุยไม่ให้ดังเกินไป ^.^)T.T

เรื่องสถานที่อยากให้พิจารณา Le Casa ของ Siam Future ที่ BTS ซ.อารีย์ อีกที่ครับ เพราะร้านแถวนี้นั่งนานได้จะเป็นมื้อหลักหรือมื้อรองก็สะดวก เช่น Greyhound / i berry etc. แถมการเดินทางด้วยรถไฟฟ้าก็สะดวก สรุปโดยภาพรวมก็ … โอเคนะครับ
