Dating at Delicatezza

Lots of people are going on dates this week, so Joy and I are immensely busy, but our sweat faded away when we get feedback such as this from clients:

“Dear Khun Nikki,

Please help ask k. U what she thinks about me as i
am quite interested in her and it is most likely that
i would like to see her again if she agrees.  Yes,
meeting again on a friendly basis is also fine with me
but it would also be nice for me to know if she feels
the same way of any further possible development so
that i know what to do when am with her again (if she
thinks there could be something going on if i persue).
Don’t be afraid to disappoint me.  Just want to be
sure of the next move to make.

Please get necessary details and let her know that i
am speaking very nicely of her.

Thank you much kub,

V”

K. U is half caucasian half Thai and works for an airline. K. V is an owner of a big publishing company.  They met at Delicatezza Thonglor, where MeetNLunch booked a table on the second floor on the balcony for them.  It was very romantic, and everything just kicked off from there naturally.  Just so you know, the date was rescheduled 5 times before both of them are free to meet each other!

I’ll be attending a friend’s wedding abroad from 23rd-28th April.  Before I go, many of you will be recieving a phone call from me this afternoon about your date for this coming weekend, and if I have left anyone out and you want a date too, just give me a call or email me.

How did she do it?

Just got off the phone with a 36 years old female client, and oh boy, I’m so amazed how she got both 2 men I introduced to her so attached. How hooked are they? Well, the first guy pursued the courtship by signing up for a membership at True Fitness where she’s a member, and to top it off, he also joined her yoga class.  <<-That’s what I called a dedication! (Trust me, I interviewed him, and he’s far from being flexy). The second guy is also very persistent. According to her, he kept asking her out by phone and emails.

What’s her secret?  Why are men still after her at 36, when most guys would  prefer to meet someone a lot younger?

It’s a combination of many things, but the essence is to make what looks perfect, easy to do and maintain. Let’s start with the physical attributes, she dresses well, put on a suitable amount of makeup, and her hair is blown dry (every day despite a v. busy work schedule).  It looks flawless, and natural.  She also knows how to do small talk, and most importantly, makes guys feel at ease around her.  And the last bit, is not to give in so easily when men court her, but to keep them interested long enough to learn about each other and to develop into something more meaningful later.

I have my finger crossed on buying a wedding cake for the first guy and her within this year.

Chelsea, the cat

Cat with toys

I don’t want to distract reader with random theme in my blog, but I couldn’t help sharing some pictures of Chelsea, my 7 weeks old American Shorthair cat.  She might look rather timid while sleeping, but when she awakes, Chelsea is probably the most atheletic and smartess cat you will ever come across.  Already toilet trained the first day she got home at 6 weeks old, Chelsea loves 2 packs of Mackarel Whiskas a day, and spinning her limbs in the air after meals.

A MatchMaker Day in Singapore

Just finished attending a launch of matchmaking institute in Singapore (press release later), and now I’m updating you the latest matchmaker’s personal life at Changi Airport, where the wireless surfing is free at the courtesy of the Singaporean tax payers.

Today’s meeting has been incredible. I have met many cool matchmakers and dating coach that are so supportive of each other. It’s a great community, and good for me to meet people in my field, that I was able to share many learning experience with. They have given me fantastic advice, which I will surely apply to Thailand.

The booming (and some bust) of the matchmaking industry in Singapore has given me a great insight into the industry where the market is relatively more mature than Thailand. At first I thought there was only 2 big matchmaking agencies in Singapore, namely Lunch Actually and Itsjustlunch, but to my surprise of the number of matchmakers that turned up today, I know I’m here to stay and to grow.

So there are lots of action on my paper at the moment, and you will see them rolling out in the newspaper and here in this blog in the next few weeks.

As for now, I want to finish this blog with recommending a bright Singaporen Dating coach called Kloudiia. I had a good catch up with her after the event, and would recommend anyone (not just single) who needs love potion to contact her at www.kloudiia.com/contact. If you are not living in Singapore, the coaching can also be done over the phone.

Meet And Lunch

I had an interview with Daniel from AbsolutelyBangkok yesterday, an uprising blogger who writes about Thai politics, travel and unique stories about Bangkok that made its charm.  Daniel is also a foreign correspondent of a German newspaper.  Here is a little excerpt from what he thought of the MeetNLunch service and the client on her way out:

“When I met Nikki at the Emporium Suites’ Starbucks, she just finished an interview with a female lonely heart.

And, she asked after the girl left, what do you think about that girl?

I was rather astonished. What could you possibly answer when you couldn’t imagine why such a beautiful slender Thai girl would require Nikki’s services …..

You see, Nikki says. Even she. She’s successful, with a good pay job, but everybody in Bangkok is busy. Friends cannot introduce new people and somehow people are just stuck. So they use my service.

Attractive single Thai females - that’s the kind of clients Nikki comforts. And stocks in her database”
