New family comes new relatives. I have recently got so many invite on Facebook from Chris’s relatives: “Hi bride-to-be, wanna be friends with auntie…? Add me!” Rejecting the invite would be a disastrous attempt to save any privacy of posting drunken night out pictures with my girlfriends or secret holidays that Chris and I had been taking. No more escape from aunties and uncles.

My mother managed to arrange a well-known make-up artist for me for the morning engagement ceremony. Due to the inevitable faith at birth, my engagement time has to be precisely 6:50 -7:30 am. This means my mother insisting on me getting to the hotel by 5 AM to get my body all covered in powder, so it’s the same color as my face, and foregone any beauty sleep I should get. Mind you, my mother hasn’t been so active since 2000, so this is a real progress.

Chris’s mother has also managed to secure us a great florist. She has been so details with everything that Chris and I felt so lost at first reading her email. I’m sure it’s beautiful, but we had so little knowledge of what most flowers are called, so we googled all the images (see below).

Phalanaeopsis = Oh, so it’s an orchid!

Lysianthus = Yes! I like this one.

wax =  okay, not what I thought it was.

Amaranthus=  hmm, interesting choice.

To be honest, I can’t understand why I need powder on my body at 5 am, and I can’t pictures all of these flowers + grapes + carnation + Ivy all together,  it sounds a little chaotic to me, but sometimes you will have to trust your mother and soon-to-be one.

Today, I took a deserved Saturday off from work and visited the Bangkok Book Fair. At “4 letter words” booth, I bumped into Bubble, who just had her first book published. So I had my copy autographed and Bubble also give Chris and I a personal reading. It was interesting indeed!

As I always say, exhaust every ways in your quest for love. It is what we believe at MeetNLunch.

I asked my mother yesterday on the way to picking up my engagement dress, “is it good to get married?”

My mom replied “Of course, it’s good!”

Knowing that my mom had her ups and downs with the marriage, I then asked her innocently, “what’s good about it?”

She looked into my eyes and said “Well, you have someone to get advice from, and someone to take you to the hospital when you are sick.  Like the other day, when I wasn’t feeling very well, your dad took me, and then yesterday he couldn’t sleep and wanted to see the dock, so I took him.  He really like this doctor, she talks well.”

I then asked my fiancee the same question that evening, and he repied, “it’s good to have someone to come home to”.

“We had quite a lot of Chemistry. It was a real pleasure to meet khun Kay, she is very smart, elegant, and well educated her personality is pleasant and she got a nice friendly sense of humour.”

Both of them really like each other, and I heard he is asking her out again this Wednesday.

Above is a feedback given from a male client who went on the date that was set up by MeetNLunch.  Men don’t just look at your make up, or your dress, they also look at everything on you including your shoes.  My suggestion to a female clients who are about to go on the date is to wear a reasonable high heels. It doesn’t need to be 4 inches, but it needs to at least make your legs look an inch longer.  If you are not used to wearing high heel, then get one, it’s easy, it’s essential, and it’s certainly what you should be seen on the date!

I hope everyone is doing okay despite political and economic turmoil.  Love is still in the air for MeetNLunch, although we might have to adjourn our IPO until next year.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to set her up with him due to paparazzi and Oops magazine, but we will see if I can find a discreet location to make her dream comes true.

Talking about speed dial list, I lost one of my 2 phones the other day.  A Thai citizen lady picked it up, and found me in the end.  She probably went through the trouble of calling everyone on my lists!!@?@ including the “celebs” to figure out how to get to me.  I couldn’t pick the phone up right away, so she even found a spare charger to charge up my phone over the weekend.  I tried to reward the lady for all her trouble, but she was too nice and wouldn’t take any gift.  I was very touched.
